There’s a special kind of joy in creating functional art—pieces you can live with, touch, and treasure every day. I’m thrilled to introduce a brand-new set of keepsake boxes to the studio: Wonderment, Charlie, Off at St Martin, Otis, and Benny. Each one begins as an original artwork, then becomes a beautifully finished box—ready to hold jewelry, love notes, beach glass, or whatever memories you want to keep close.
Wonderment — winter magic in your hands
A quiet winter night comes alive with swirling stars and three cheerful snowmen (one sporting a jaunty red scarf). This black lacquered box measures 5.125" square with a soft white felt interior—perfect for small treasures. $150.
Charlie — a splash of color
Meet Charlie, a lively fish bursting with pattern and personality. Compact and gift-ready, this black lacquered box is 5.125" square with a felt-lined interior. $150.
Off at St Martin — for the ocean dreamers
Think sun, sails, and that unmissable Caribbean blue. This golden-oak lacquered box is a generous 7.125" × 7.125" × 2.5" with a soft white felt interior—ideal for letters, watches, or travel keepsakes. $200.
Otis — soulful and steady
Inspired by a dignified basset hound with those unmistakable ears and thoughtful gaze. Crafted in golden-oak lacquer, this larger format box is 7.125" × 7.125" × 2.5" with a protective felt lining. $200.
Benny — the loyal companion
Benny is a stylized blue tick coonhound sitting proudly atop a sleek black lacquered box. Also 7.125" × 7.125" × 2.5" with soft felt inside, ready for the keepsakes that matter most. $200.
Why collectors love these
Art you can use: display-worthy on a desk, dresser, or bookshelf—and quietly practical.
Thoughtful gifts: birthdays, anniversaries, new homes, or “just because.”
Hand-finished details: lacquered wood, felt-lined interiors, and artwork that tells a story.
You can see the full functional-art collection and shop these new pieces on the Functional Art page of my site. Thank you, as always, for supporting original art—and for giving it a place in your everyday life.
